I'm a musician. Not a famous one, but not too shabby either. I'm older and wiser, better at my skills, and more patient with myself and others.

I play the guitar, the drums, the trumpet, keyboards, and a saxophone. Almost an orchestra all by myself! I have played music, taught music, written music, and recorded music. So, I'm no slouch.

I teach in a nearby school, full-time, as well as private lessons. I play in a band in my free time. My kids like my playing, but they still don't think I'm cool.

I like ALL KINDS of music! Truly, I do. I was raised in a small German town in Kansas, so a lot of Polka and Country music growing up. My Dad liked the lazy sounds of Merle Haggard, so there's that. I am a child of the 70's and 80's, so Classic Rock like Journey, Foreigner, Loverboy, and Aerosmith beats in me, too. My first few instructors all got me listening to Classical music, like Bach & Beethoven, so I have very fond memories of many songs there. My kids got me tuned into rap and Pop, and my wife likes Mexican music. I'm surrounded by such a wide variety of genres, and I embrace them all. Many musicians steer towards a particular style or genre, but that's just not me. So, I don't fight it.

Although, truth be told, I can really grt to jamming no matter what I listen to. Music is in my blood!
